THERE IS NO PUBLIC ACCESS VIA JIM KIDD ROAD, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR GPS IS TAKING YOU TO NECK ROAD.

From Statesville or I-40 Heading South Toward Huntersville:

  1. Take I-77 South to Exit #25. (Huntersville) and turn RIGHT. (This is Highway #73).
  2. Go West on HWY #73 approximately 3 miles passing the Birkdale Village area.
  3. Turn LEFT on Beatties Ford Road. (Exxon gas station is on your left as you turn.
  4. Follow Beatties Ford Road approximately 3 miles passing Bradley Middle School on your right.
  5. Continue approximately 1 mile and turn RIGHT onto NECK ROAD. Note the Historical Rock Column and the sign “Rural Hill-Center of Scottish Heritage.
  6. Drive on Neck Road for approximately 2 miles, crossing McDowell Creek Bridge.
  7. Rural Hill is located on the RIGHT side just past the McDowell Creek Water Treatment Plant.
  8. Turn RIGHT into the SECOND ENTRANCE.

From Harris Blvd toward Northlake Mall:

  1. Follow Harris Blvd. across I-77 approximately 1 mile until you come to a Traffic light which will be Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road.
  2. Turn LEFT, onto Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road and travel approximately 1 mile to Beatties Ford Road.
  3. Turn RIGHT onto Beatties Ford Road and drive NORTH approximately 3 miles.
  4. You will pass Hopewell High School located on your Right.
  5. Continue approximately ¼ mile and turn LEFT onto NECK ROAD. Note the Historical Rock Column and the sign
    “Rural Hill-Center of Scottish Heritage”.
  6. Drive on Neck Road for approximately 2 miles, crossing McDowell Creek Bridge.
  7. Rural Hill is located on the RIGHT side just past the McDowell Creek Water Treatment Plant.
  8. Turn RIGHT into the SECOND ENTRANCE.

From I-85 Heading South Toward Huntersville:

  1. Take Exit #55 (Huntersville). And turn RIGHT onto Highway #73/Davidson Highway.
  2. Go West on HWY #73 approximately 16 miles passing over I-77.
  3. Turn LEFT on Beatties Ford Road. (Exxon gas station is on your LEFT as you turn).
  4. Follow Beatties Ford Road approximately 3 miles passing Bradley Middle School on your right.
  5. Continue approximately 1 mile and turn RIGHT onto NECK ROAD. Note the Historical Rock Column and the sign “Rural Hill-Center of Scottish Heritage”.
  6. Drive on Neck Road for approximately 2 miles, crossing McDowell Creek Bridge.
