DESCRIPTION:Make a lovely weekend out of the 2025 Sheepdog Trials & Dog Festival by camping out on site at Rural Hill!\n\n\nAll campers are welcome on a first come and space available basis as space is limited. The Sheepdog Trials & Dog Festival Camping Area is conveniently located across the street from the festival venue (easy walking distance) in a beautiful rural setting. \nWe only offer Two-Night Camping Reservations and do not offer single night stays. Two-night reservations are for Friday Night (11/14/25) and Saturday Night (11/15/25) only. Additional tickets may be purchased to stay Sunday Night (11/16/25) in addition to the two night camping pass that is required. \nThe Sheepdog Trials & Dog Festival  is a family friendly event\, and for this reason inappropriate behavior on the part of anyone in attendance will not be tolerated and could result in being removed from the camping area by Historic Rural Hill staff and/or local law enforcement without refund or fees. \nCamping spaces are not laid out and are approximate. A 15×15 space cannot always be square based the geography of the spot you choose. Please stay within the size limits set out for the ticket you purchase. Please be cautious to your camping neighbors. \nPursuant to Mecklenburg County Ordinance\, Rural Hill is a tobacco-free zone. This includes both smoking\, smokeless tobacco\, e-cigarettes\, vaporizers and other such devices. This includes the campground. This is a Mecklenburg County Law that Rural Hill must follow. \nRules and Regulations: Historic Rural Hill\, on which the Sheepdog Trials & Dog Festival is presented on\, is the property of Mecklenburg County. For that reason individuals and groups camping on the premises must follow requirements set by County Park and Recreation\, as well as the rules of Historic Rural Hill. \n1. FIRES- County Ordinance: Any fire shall be continuously under the care and direction of a competent person over sixteen years of age from the time it is kindled until it is extinguished. \n“Open” or “Pit Fires” are not allowed. Fires are allowed in ABOVE GROUND CONTAINER FIRE PITS ONLY. \nIf you are camping in a wooded area please know that fires are not allowed and you must use a camp stove for cooking. \n2. TRASH- There are ample trash receptacles located around the grounds. Please use them. The alternative is to pack your trash out with you. If you keep your trash in your camp\, please keep it covered. You will be in a nature preserve with wildlife who enjoys easy snacks and creating lots of mess. \n3. PORTABLE TOILETS-Portable toilets are conveniently located around the grounds. \n4. WATER- There is an ample supply of water available. There is hook up for RVs and water access for the tent camping area. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. You must bring your own hose and a splitter. \n5. NOISE- Please\, no instrument playing\, loud radios\, or televisions after 11pm. We value and respect the noise ordinances set in place and require our guests to do the same. \n6. We’ll have live music\, fabulous food trucks\, and adult beverages on hand. \n-Tickets sold for any other non-specific maze day will not be accepted at this event. This fun and challenging maze is the perfect weekend adventure for you and your friends or family. Our theme this year features a nod to our Scottish roots with a bagpiper and our very own Highland cow! Weave your way through the twists and turns and find all the game stations to complete your game sheet. Or just come in and get lost (but don’t worry\, we can always help you get out). While the maze is only open to the public on Fridays\, Saturdays\, and Sundays\, we are more than happy to host field trips\, schools or businesses with groups of 10 or more during the week. See below and contact us for your school\, church or team building events! \nMore than just a maze! Come hop on up into the hay wagon and enjoy a tractor-pulled ride around the farm\, or pick out and buy your perfect pumkpin from our pumpkin patch! You can also enjoy some great food trucks\, bounce houses for the kids\, and local breweries for the grown-ups! \nRemember\, this event is only available on weekends\, so plan your visit accordingly.
