HUNTERSVILLE, NC: Catawba Valley Scottish Society and the Lake
Norman Chamber of Commerce have announced The Kilted Clay Shoot
event will be held April 10 at Meadow Wood Farm in Waxhaw from 8
AM to 1 PM. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Major
Davidson Clock Fund at Historic Rural Hill and Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Mecklenburg County. For additional information and

The Shoot is limited to 24 teams with
4 shooters per team. There will be 12 sites plus a flurry
shoot. Clays, shells, continental breakfast and lunch, and
goody bags will be provided to registered shooters Plaques will
be awarded to the highest scoring teams and winners of team
challenges, if applicable, including the kids tournament.
There will be an extra point awarded to each shooter in kilt,
and 2 extra points for an entire kilted team! A perfect
score is 100 points, and you may increase your odds by
purchasing a mulligan (an extra shot) for $5 each.
The cost for the shoot is $150 per
adult shooter or $500 for a team of 4. Warm-ups are available
for $15 per shooter or $40 per team. Non-shooting guests are
welcomed for $15 which includes the continental breakfast and
lunch. A signed waiver is required for all participants.
Registration begins at 8 AM and The Shoot begins at 9 AM, with
the lunch and awards to follow at 12:30 PM. Advance

The Major Davidson Clock Fund will be utilized to help Historic
Rural Hill acquire the tall case clock that was originally
purchased by Major John Davidson from the noted Massachusetts
clock maker, Aaron Willard. The label dates the clock to 1800
and this rare artifact is in excellent working condition. The
clock will be displayed in the homestead at Rural Hill along
with other displays from the Davidson family.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mecklenburg County is a youth
mentoring organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides
mentoring services for children from the ages of 5-18 and helps
thousands of
children each year through professionally supported, one-on-one
relationships with caring adult volunteers.
