We’re Teaming Up with Latta Nature Center,
Waiter’s Choice Catering, and Seven Jars Distillery!!

In celebration of Tartan Day and the Loch Norman Highland Games, we are thrilled to announce the first ever Kilted Whiskey Adventure! Canoe 8 miles through the most wild and scenic portion of Mountain Island Lake with ACA certified paddling instructors. Discover the ecological and historical significance of our little stretch of the Catawba river while we work up an appetite for dinner. After the canoe trip, you’ll be treated to a Scottish dinner and drink pairing back at Historic Rural Hill. BYOK (bring your own kilt) but all paddling equipment is provided.

Where do we meet?
Everyone going on the paddle trip meets at Historic Rural Hill at 2:30pm.
Then we all get into our Park and Rec vans and ride to the put in.
Where do we start canoeing?
Lucia Access on Killian Road, which is right across the river from Duck cove.
Where do we end?
Neck Road Access just down the road from Rural Hill.
How do we get back to Rural Hill?
We will run shuttles with Park and Rec’s vans.
How long will the canoe trip take?
